Backsteiner is made by one of the oldest cooperatives in Bavaria, and is known as the "brick of gold." Its considered to be a smear ripened soft cheese, and yields a fruity flavor with a creamy buttery texture and a slightly pungent nose. Made from silage free raw cow's milk.
