When you define server-side event handlers in a Grid, you can reference functions that you define in the Grid itself, or Global Functions that you define in the Code tab of the Control Panel. If you reference a Global Function, you have to compile the Global Functions into an .AEX file, insert a reference to the .AEX file in your Grid Component, and then publish this .AEX file along with the other files in your project. This video shows how you can use .AEX files in a Grid Component, and it shows how the Publishing process can automatically compile the .AEX file and publish it.
