The final round of the 19th Annual Hugh B. Pearce Trial Advocacy Competition took place on Wednesday April 9th, and the Harrisburg team of Steven Kwon and John Toresco overcame stiff competition from Delaware?s Christopher H. Lee and Evan J. Perel to win the competition.
Before a sizable audience in the Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom, the Harrisburg team of Kwon and Toresco represented the plantiffs, Ronald and Randi McGee, against the School Board of Dallas County, ably defended by Delaware's Lee and Perel. Widener Law alum and Delaware Deputy Attorney General Kevin M. Carroll '06 served as the judge for the competition. After a greeting from Maura E. Cunningham, the Delaware campus Hugh B. Pearce Chairperson, bailiff Leslie J. Starling called the court into session.
