Annual documentary competition designed to promote issue awareness among students

In March, C-SPAN announced the winners of its annual contest, (StudentCam, www.studentcam.org) inviting middle school and high school students to submit their own documentaries on issues of national importance. To handle the complexities of each year’s event, the network turned to Viddler for hands-on support.

Viddler’s Contest Manager allows companies and organizations to easily create branded campaigns, with rules for user submission of videos, voting (for an existing slate of videos or for user-supplied content), event duration, and analytics. Video uploads and hosting is handled through Viddler’s cloud-based multimedia platform.

“Each year, C-SPAN hosts a documentary contest for middle and high school students called StudentCam,” said spokesman Craig McAndrew. “Over the last 6 years, Viddler has served as the video host for the competition and has never failed to impress with their fast, reliable, and cost effective service.”
