even though 5 Gb/s is 640 MB/s... maybe its just their recent tests are only 500 MB/s

Yes, but if you're just speaking of drives, eSATA is 3.0Gbps, though you have to keep the cables really short (

This is going to be great for that Vista's technology "ReadyBoost". In a couple of years we are going to have four 2 GB USB pendrives connected to our computer instead of a lot of RAM sticks.
