In this demo of MindTouch Deki I very quickly cover basic collaboration. I then scream through an integration and mashup demo that includes a Microsoft Access database, some web-services, WORKFLOW, and then I end with a very fast look at MindTouch Deki's architecture. HOLD ON tight it's really fast.

We use Microsoft Access here. It could just as well be data from SQLServer, Oracle, MySQL, etc.

In this case, no one has yet created a page for this particular customer record that's in the Microsoft Access database. It's clear because the link is a dashed-underline. Now, I'll create the page for the first time. When I do so you'll notice the page is created with pre-defined content: a template.

Again, these customers are being queried from the Access DB. Some have already had pages created for them in MindTouch Deki. Otheres, those with the dashed underlines have not.

Notice as I click through the data I'm moving to different pages in MindTouch Deki. This allows user to provide additional information around the data. This additional information can be static or dynamically generated from other sources.

You did hear correctly. MindTouch Deki is built on .NET and deploys on both Microsoft Windows AND Linux.

Notice this is the default demo data in Microsoft Access: Northwind Traders.

Here's where it gets good. Now I get into a more interesting and advanced portion of the demo that involves an integrated Microsoft Access database, a Silverlight charting pkg for visualization and navigating data. We also mashup MS Access data with Google and other services. Finally, you'll also see some new workflow capabilities of MindTouch Deki.

Notice you can also tag or add comments to pages.
