The Hop Rod Rye, a rye-infused beer from Bear Republic from Healdsburg, CA - the home of other big hitter beers - is made with 20% rye grain and is very hoppy. Rye beers have a very long history, and was an important ingredient in beer up until the 5th century AD. Also called a Roggenbier, Rye Ales are still new to the American public, but something worth some serious consideration.
