July 27, 2013 - Mark Bright, who has worked with Carrie Underwood throughout her recording career, is one of the most successful music producers and executives in Nashville today. Presented in support of the exhibition Carrie Underwood: The Blown Away Tour, this program focuses on Bright’s creative partnership with Underwood in the context of his larger career as a country music hit-maker for BlackHawk, Sara Evans, Lonestar, Scotty McCreery, Reba McEntire, Jo Dee Messina, and Rascal Flatts. Bright began producing Underwood in 2005, shortly after she won American Idol. Her debut project, Some Hearts, became Billboard’s Country Album of the Decade. Bright also produced Underwood’s next three albums, which have been certified multi-platinum and garnered numerous ACM, CMA, and Grammy awards. As a publisher Bright has overseen the catalogs of hit songwriters such as Brett James (“Jesus, Take the Wheel”) and Danny Wells (“Check Yes or No”). This program is illustrated with vintage photographs, film footage, and recordings.
