Art Gilliam, owner of radio station WLOK, spoke to the Society of Entrepreneurs, Memphis, TN, Jan. 17, 2007 (29 min.) .Art Gilliam spoke to the Entrepreneurs Roundtable about his experience as a business owner. Art returned to Memphis as a young, progressive-minded, Yale-educated businessman and bought WLOK in 1977, making it the first black-owned (and the first locally owned) radio station in the city of Memphis.
