SAN FRANCISCO -- The historic tug USS Wenonah is salvaged from the bottom of San Francisco Bay near Treasure Island, Friday, Aug. 28, 2009. A unified command consisting of members from the Coast Guard, California Department of Fish and Game office of Oil Spill and Environmental Response, Treasure Island Development Authority and National Response Center oversaw the cleanup and salvage operations. The tug sank at its berth August 17.
