When it first came to the Runescape realm, everyone was panicking, trying to kill it and stop it escaping from the cave and onto the surface. It was too powerful though, so the druidess in the video went to get help from Guthix by searching the cave under Lumbridge. She was drawn to the temple right at the bottom and Guthix took her life in exchange for the Soulless to rise and trap the beast in the cave.
