Every SXSW it seems Twitter gets a big push but there is something about the 2008 version that just seems different and so I ponder does this "little app that could" have the blue print to be the site that next takes America by storm because remember NO ONE in "REAL" America knows what Twitter is.......YET

This is so true! I even know a few friends that don't have Flash (i.e. No online video for them).
About 7 of my RL friends know what Twitter is because they ask why I'm constantly looking at my mobile phone. "Derek.. what are you doin-- oh, is it that Twitter thing?"

I agree. when did the world move backward to the website type social? IM and "fast apps" have always been the king in my mind

when twitter gets to the mainstream, rather than just geeks, they'll be ruling the world.

So true and when you explain it they think it crazy.

YES! No more zombie, bumper sticker, knighthood apps!

it's stupid slow and bloated... facebook needs to trim the fat.

Facebook was nice when it first came out and you could connect with friends - I found a lot of friends that I hadn't talked with in a number of years. Once the API was released it got messy - too many damn apps and your friends sending invites to have everything on your profile. It's bulky and too damn slow! Twitter is what we want and expect - nice, short posts on a simple system. Facebook either needs to adapt or it will die out.

Facebook is so slow in the terms of having interaction .... twitter is fast.

Yes... without a doubt.

Twitter is cool if I want to ask a question and get a quick answer. I like Facebook cause I can have notes and photos and friends in one place.

Ding! Simplicity is exactly why I love Twitter! Facebook is my extension of Twitter.
