This is a wonderful post of economizing and repurposing low cost equipment for alternative use. I especially appreciated the painter pole for a monopole. Could you provide the links to the mini flash and the mini mount? I think the flash is at http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/438988-REG/Smith_Victor_690045_PG250S_Wireless_Mini_Slave.html%20$23.50 but I couldn't find the mount.
