Description

Paul's office [Avid Broadcast, back of building 1] one evening in 1992, CL560 [the fast JPEG chip] development central. Soundtrack is from the tape -- it's what was on the CD player in my office [The City Sleeps by MC 900 Ft. Jesus].

How to show off boards in your computer? These days, it would only have something like 4 chips!

The most powerful single video compression chip of its era. I finally got it to work (and not without the help of a few others either, plus a week long trip to Silicon Valley!); it powered Avid's video editing systems for many years. (ES means Engineering Sample ;-)

Don't you just hate it when the camera won't focus!

Apple's Quadra 950 lying on its side (open, since the development board sticks out ;-)

What an Avid editing system looked like if you were building it ;-)

Flamingo Graphics poster (where I worked in Cambridge '89/'90). Gave an artist our "Logo Editor" and got back more than a logo!
