If it makes you feel better, I never have a plot. It kind of creates itself when I'm writing without my knowledge.

I know sometimes, if I read books and try to forget about finding a plot, one comes to me. Or listen to music that you think goes along with your novel time period. Music and books always inspire me, maybe it will work for you too?

Plot idea: Shapeshifter becomes infatuated with the Prince and shapeshifts into a cat to be close to him. He takes the cat in because he sees human qualities in the animal and wonders if there is more behind her golden eyes. The caveat is she can't be in animal form for more than a few hours otherwise she risks staying an animal forever. While the Prince is away she shifts into human form and disguises herself as a maid. While as a maid she catches the eye of the manservant who immediately is intrigued by her beauty and befriends her. Her heart belongs to the Prince while the manservant's heart belongs to her. What will happen when/if the Prince and the Manservant find out her secret?
