Ben Hasan interviews with Butler High Principal Greg Thompson about
recent incidents including the death of Brandon Taylor and an
alleged gang assault on another student, incidents which involved
Butler High students but did not occur on school property. He also
interviewed about the newly-established "Get Up Program" that
school administrators recently established at Butler to show the
kids that they care. Principal Thompson explained how they have
used the program to award incentives to students for hard work in
order to foster academic growth. The guests present included six
Butler High Students who won the Future Problem Solver Competition
award in Athens, GA, and Anne-Beth Strelec, Gifted Facilitator of
the Richmond County School System. They discuss how the program is
funded, and various competitions that the students are taking part
in.
