A transformer at Jane Park Plaza, located at Jane St. and Alliance Ave, blew out and caught fire in the afternoon and required Food Basic$ to be evacuated due to large amounts of smoke. Toronto Fire Services confirms this, and power was restored to a few stores, including Food Basic$. The rest of the plaza will be without power until July 1, 2012, Canada Day.
