August 8, 2015 - Jeff Stevens began producing and co-writing with Luke Bryan on his first album, I’ll Stay Me, in 2007, and the two have been musical collaborators ever since. In the 1980s, Stevens led a band, Jeff Stevens and the Bullets, that recorded for Atlantic America Records before breaking up in 1990. Stevens continued as a solo artist for Atlantic before transitioning into songwriting, and scoring big hits with Tracy Byrd, Tim McGraw, and George Strait. Stevens’s first significant success as a producer came when he started working with Bryan. Stevens produced and co-wrote Bryan’s first hit, “All My Friends Say,” and he has produced every Bryan album since, and co-written other hits, including the #1“Someone Else Calling You Baby.” The conversation is illustrated with photos and videos from his career and Stevens performs briefly. This program is offered in connection with the exhibit Luke Bryan: Dirt Road Diary presented by Citi.
