September 21, 2013 - Grammy winner Rodney Crowell joined Emmylou Harris's Hot Band as a guitarist and soon became one of her primary songwriters, penning songs like "Till I Gain Control Again" and "Ain'tLivin' Long Like This." His songwriting career took full flight when "Leavin' Louisiana in the Broad Daylight" hit number one for the Oak Ridge Boys. Among his other significant compositions are "Long Hard Road (The Sharecropper's Dream)" Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) and "Somewhere Tonight" (Highway 101). Crowell scored five #1 singles from his 1988 album Diamonds & Dirt including "I Couldn't Leave You If I Tried" and a cover of the 1960 Buck Owens hit “Above and Beyond.” Crowell released his memoir, Chinaberry Sidewalks, in 2011. His latest recording is a collaboration with Emmylou Harris titled Old Yellow Moon.
