Here's an idea I've had for a while. There's so many different media sites out there which all their own commenting systems and databases to store all those comments.

I'd like to see some of those commenting systems synchronised with each other, so that the conversation under a particular item of media will be the same. There's pros and cons about this, but I think it could work well in many situations.

I'd be humbled if someone ran with this idea and created something marvelous with it. Think: "Open Comments".

Once available, I believe it would be a service the end user would opt-in to (similar to OpenID). They'd be able to sync their comments across the services they have an account with and/or just a few they choose to.
