Description

Millions of people survive at the coastal region only through
fishing. Fishing is the only resource at the sea and its
surrounding rivers. Sea is their only source of income in the world
that is composed of three-part of water and one part of land.
Worldwide, the venomous threat of climate change has made life
miserable for this poor community. Salinity gave them life, now
which has made their life even more wretched with many hardships as
it increased a lot than the past. Queue of boats at the mouth of
Bay of Bengal in Patuakhali’s Kuakata is the evidence of climate’s
adverse effect. As the global temperature went up, so went up the
sea level. Strong winds are on the sea. Salinity has increased. No
sign of rain. They can’t go far in the sea to catch fish anymore.
Many could get some fish but it’s not even closer to what they’ve
invested. They can’t pay back the loan to the moneylender. There’s
absolutely no sign of work in the fish-market and fishermen
community. Fishermen are sitting idle without any job everyday.
They wait like the way they slowly make their fishing nets.
