September 9, 2017 - Acoustic guitarist Mac McAnally was Country Music Association Musician of the Year for an unprecedented eight consecutive years, starting in 2008, and has played on many hit recordings. McAnally is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and has written hits for Alabama, Kenny Chesney, and Sawyer Brown. He has produced Toby Keith and Amy Grant and recorded over a dozen albums as an artist himself, including Southbound (Aug. 25), a collection of McAnally’s original tunes set to orchestral arrangements. McAnally works closely with Jimmy Buffett as touring musician, writer, and producer. In the studio McAnally is known primarily as an acoustic guitarist with diverse talents. He has worked on projects for Kenny Chesney, Nanci Griffith, George Jones, George Strait, Keith Whitley, and Trisha Yearwood. This program is illustrated with vintage photos, film footage, and recordings.
