Norvasc
reduces myocardial ischemia in two ways: by expanding peripheral
arterioles and thus reduces afterload, in this case the reduction
of energy consumption and myocardial oxygen demand, as well as
expanding coronary and peripheral arteries and arterioles in both
normal and ischemic zones of the myocardium, which increases flow
of oxygen in the myocardium in patients vasospastic angina and
prevents the development of coronary vasospasm caused by smoking.
