Nice titles. You might have left in the door slam here, just to help transition the getting our of the car notion

a little rough edit there

nice transition--works well

now it is a bit much. Sometimes you just can't use all the good sound bites, or alternatively, use the audio, but put it over the picture of the guys walking away from you (so you don't see their mouths) or off in the distance talking.

could have added a couple of those soiund bites here for example

I like the added bird sound effects (sfx)

this transition comes across as a little gimmicky. It often conveys a sense of time passing (i.e. meanwhile back at the ranch, or, 30 minutes later...)

this transition (and cut in the interview) could have been facilitated with a cutaway.
This is achieved by separating the audio and video tracs ina given clip. Imovie allows allows you to extarct audio from the video clip allowing you to put the interview audio with other video. Likewise, moviemaker lets you drag the videoclip to the audio only track, theereby throwing away the video portion. To do this, make sure you are in timeline vs. clip view while editing. Hope that helps.

Ed,
I felt like my comments came across a bit negative. This is a tough piece to edit, and it could be helped by either dropping stuff out, or learning how to split your audio and video tracks. See comments in video.

Joel- I welcome constructive criticism and learn from it. I tried to use too much audio with the visual, but now realize I could have presented the audio only and split if from the video and it would make it more interesting with out repetitiveness of cuts. I would not have thought of that if you did not point it out. I also was so excited about this that I think I went OCD with it. I also went overboard as producer, my novice abilities came out. I am so glad that I can make the mistakes and learn now before producing learning visuals for my students. I also realize that more is not better. I appreciate all comments and do not take them as negative. I find myself going back and reading the material again. My brain is so full of ideas, I am afraid it will explode. The excitement is incredible.

LOL - The susq. sounds made me laugh. Nice job with your video.

I also liked the bird sounds. You might have considered putting some of the documentary voice audio over the susq. scene,

It might be just me, but I thought the titles were a little too heavy and distracting from the video

Thanks I will lighten them up next time.

Was the sasquach you used rabid? Just kidding - liked it - entertaining. The overlays were a bit too harsh though and distracted from what you had done. But - I am in the same boat and would rather play stage manager with live actors anyday rather than touch another flim...

A rabid sasquach? I'm still laughing over that comment!

I don't think it had rabies. I will try to make the overlays less harsh. sorry.

Video Critique Rubric:
Editing: I think your editing created an informative story. I liked one or two slide ins from the left, but then I thought there were too many and they took away from your story.
Audio: Audio was good. I liked the natural sounds you added. I did start to chuckle after a bit, listening to Big Foot.
Visuals: Title and credits added to the piece. What program did you use? I didn't see any bold title choices in mine.
Objective: Purpose of video was clear. Video effectively communicated your message.
Creativity: I liked the added sounds.
