Indiana University East alumna Vickie Weaver received her B.A. in English with a minor in women���s and gender studies in 2000. In 2005, she received her M.F.A. in creative writing from Spalding University. A writer, Vickie Weaver teaches composition and creative writing part-time at IU East. On October 28, Ms. Weaver spoke and read from her novel ���Billie Girl���, winner of the 2009 Leapfrog Fiction Contest. She was introduced by Dr. T.J. Rivard, a professor at IU East. The reading was sponsored by Mindful Explorations and the Friends of the Library.
