Microsoft DreamSpark - Free Dev Tools for Students (back)
evansims group admin (8 months ago)
Microsoft announced their "DreamSpark" project, which provides numerous editions of their development tools and operating systems available for free to High School and University students in the US and a handful of other countries.
This is a brilliant idea; Microsoft's MSDN Academic Alliance program has been fairly useful to me as a university student, but the software available through the program is often out of date, and I can only order through the program during times when I am actually scheduled in classes directly associated with software development (even though I'm in a degree program that could in theory make use of that software at any time.)
