GetFlv method (back)

Can someone give me an estimate when the 'getFlv' method will be available? Furthermore I like to know what I need to do to upgrade my key to become premium.
The project I'd like to start with involves a Vista Media Center add-in which allows users to browse and play Viddler videos from the comfort of their couch using just their remote control. For this to work I would need access to the Flv. I want to explain in a series of blog posts how people can build their own Viddler add-in for Media Center based on this project. I also want to use this project as a sample for an article I'm about to write for the Dutch .Net Magazine which is due in 3 months. It would be really great if I could provide a working sample. Please do not let me revert to the YouTube API as I really love Viddler for it's quality.

sschutten: Would you want access to the FLV, or, would having access to the original file that the user uploaded be more helpful?

cdevroe: access to the original file will probably work as well. This might cause problems for some users though, when they do not have the correct codec installed. The FLV is supported at most workstations, but I've read somewhere that buffering an FLV in Media Center can take a while. This I have to figure out myself. If there's already a method for accessing the original file uploaded by a user this would be a great way to build the add-in. Could you share some more information on that?

Is there some more info on this? What about the GetFlv method? What about some other method to access the original uploaded file?

FLV will be coming in the future, but - will only be a partner level access. Expect to see it in future updates.

It's been three months now, and I still haven't seen the getFlv method or getOriginal method available in the API. This is a shame, because I'd really like to continue my work on the Media Center add-in, and for that to work I need at least one of these methods. Can someone (cdevroe?) provide the status?

Hi,
Glad to see FLV access is coming in the future. Also interested in discussing partner level access for Phreadz (http://phreadz.com). I am just implementing the oEmbed method for Phreadz users to share Viddler posts, as part of the multimedia conversation Phreadz can do.
One thing which is missing though, is how to get the thumbnail url? oEmbed does support 'thumbnail_url'
With that, I can that continue to the use the standard player without need the FLV.
However, getting the FLV url and thumbnail url would make the Viddler support the same as most of the other systems whick Phreadz supports - which let me determine the thumbnail urls via API/feeds etc.
cheers!
