Hello,

You can't get rid of the logo but if you do what is told there: http://www.viddler.com/forums/support/1042/ , you can get your own logo next to the Viddler one.

If I remember well, only the flv file for online playback gets the logo, if you allow people to download your original files, the logo won't be there. But I'm not sure about that. Brandiiiiiiiiiiiice? Coliiiiiiiiiiiin? Heeeeeeeeeeeelp. :)

Good luck. :)

I've been encountering this problem too and trying to work my way around it. I don't know why, but the viddler encoder is out for blood lately.

One thing I have noticed, anywhere where colors such as blue, purple, or other dark colors are present against black tends to throw the encoder into a fit of rage, the results of which are not immediately recognizable.

I'm not sure if it's possible to change the color scheme of that program or not. That'd be the only suggestion I could come up with, and it's not a very good one, unfortunately. Sorry.

Have video codec settings been changed lately?

RPGenie posted new topic:

The videos are getting extremely blurred when I upload them to viddler. I have no idea what the rhyme or reason is behind this. I'm using the same bitrate (2,000) and 543x408 resolution, but the latest videos just look... incredibly blurry. When the prespective changes, everything gets *incredibly* blurry untill the camera stops changing direction for a couple seconds. Everything moving though has a sickening after-image that it leaves behind. Still graphics sometimes even blur and warp colors. Grey will get speckled with lighter and darker bits of color, in example.

Have they changed the codec settings to not allow high of quality of videos as they've used to? As it stands right now, it makes most of my videos unwatchable.

All videos uploaded after 6/13/2008 look like they got sent through a wood-chipper. Allow me to do a video comparison. I'll use a recording of a text-based game as an example.

Before: (6/13/08)
http://www.viddler.com/explore/rpgenie/videos/36/

After: (6/30/08)
http://www.viddler.com/explore/rpgenie/videos/37/

I have done *nothing* on my end that would change the video settings. Video 36 was recorded and uploaded the exact same way, bitrate, and resolution, so why is it the video in the after segment looks so mangled?

I would appreciate knowing if there's some setting I don't know of, or if there's something I'm doing wrong.

Both videos used Microsoft MPEG-4 VKI 3 codecs recorded through VirtualDub. both videos used 1 second VKI settings with 75% on the scale to crispness, and both videos used a 2000kbps bitrate.
On my end, before uploading them, the videos look completely un-blurry. They look pristine, without the alias-blur that you see on viddler. So... I'm just completely in the dark here. One day viddler works perfectly for me, the next day it bombs out hard. There has to be something I'm missing here, since it seems I'm the only person suffering from this issue. Some setting I haven't heard about? Something?

I'd like to organize all of the films submitted to last year's documentary competition on one page, with the four winners all at the top. Is this something I can do with tags? I've tagged them all "Objects of my affection" which was the name of the competition. I want entrants to this year's competition to look at the kind of work that was submitted last year without having to weed through our other videos. Any suggestions?

Andrew

I came to Viddler in search of a video sharing service that allows me to upload high quality, full screen resolution videos.
While I managed to do so, my video was slightly reduced in quality, even though it was not too big to begin with.
Now, since I am doing video tutorials, the high resolution is very important to me.
See http://www.viddler.com/explore/icarus/videos/2/

Notice how the top left side of the video (the border and the vertical lines) flicker?

I originally encoded the video as XviD (highest quality) and uncompressed audio - it was about 64mb in size. Why cant it be kept in the original quality - or, what can I do to improve the quality of the encoding done on Viddler?

TIA

Hello
I have some videos with timed tags. When I click on the tag there is a snapshot of a video displayed and a link that indicates it is for the particular tag. The snapshot is the first frame of the video no matter where the timed tag is. Is this expected behavior? If I click on that link the video starts in the first frame. Expected behavior? If not it looks like a bug.

If it is expected behavior then a feature request is for the snapshot to display a frame at the tag and a click on the link to take me to the frame in the video.

The particular video is:
http://www.viddler.com/explore/WandasWanders/videos/6/238.06/20080621-04/

If

If you see any advertisers wandering the halls please send them our way.

Thanks
Janis (WandasWanders & RollerSportTV)
