The instructions in the faqs simply do not work or maybe some steps are missing. I have posted a private video then invited a few people to view it. They cannot even though I have gone through the sharing screen and, I think, added their names. They have even signed up. What am I missing? This is most frustrating. Please give me a step by step answer. Do I have to invite them to join me as a friend????? Why cannot I just send them an e-mail and this enables them to see my video? What does that secret URL do? How do I use it????

I believe your videos have to be set to shared.

To share a video that's private you need to be sharing the secret url, not the main url of the video. You just generate a secret url and then email that url to your friends. They don't have to sign up to view the video that way and should be able to view it immediately if you've clicked to generate the secret url under "edit sharing settings" and then clicked to "save changes" and used that url.

I will make a note to update the FAQ to make this more clear. Thank you for the constructive criticism, and I agree that, after the recent site update, the instructions probably don't accurately describe the process anymore.

Is it also possable to embed a video that is private. So that people can only view it via the embeded code in my web page?

How can I change the status of a video? I uploaded it as 'private' and now need to to be made public. How do I do that?

When you're viewing the video, there is an option in the right column for sharing settings, where you can adjust who can see/comment/embed/download your video.
