The player grabbed half-way through my exploding parts transition - about the worst possible frame it could grab - and used that as the static display image for the video.

Any way to change without re-doing my video editing to have no transition between title and video?

absolutely. You can go to 'your videos' page, find the video you would like to change the thumbnail on and start to play it, once you get near the frame you would like as the thumbnail, click the "+" in the lower right side of the player and choose 'set thumbnail'.
This feature is a bear sometimes and may take a couple tries to get the frame you would like. Keep in mind as well, that you may not be able to select the exact frame you want, because of the data that is or is not present in the video file.
