Viddler

We've recently added the Viddler Wordpress plugin to official Wordpress directory. We've seen a few people having problems with it - and since there are so many configurations for Wordpress, differing hosts, servers, versions of PHP and Apache, etc. etc. etc. - I thought we'd start a thread for anyone having trouble with this version of the plugin so that we can iron them out.

Please describe and/or copy and paste your error below. And we'll work hard to get an update rolled out as soon as possible that addresses any issues we find.

I just launched http://shama.tv. It is a Word Press blog, and the videos show up just fine! However, I can't see them in my Google RSS feed when subscribed.

I have issues with the section while writing a blog post when I click on Viddler to add a video to the post, I get a whole lot of text. But also at the top of my dashboard.

Also the link for people to leave a comment isnt doing anything. It directs you to:

Obviously the "(blogpostname)" is the specific blog post and the others are the date etc...

I'm having the exact same problem. I'll post back if I find a resolution. There must be something wrong with our WordPress configurations.

I was able to get the plugin working -sort of.

Hayden, are you running PHP5?

I am so I had to change all occurrences of phpviddler to php5viddler. Lines 460,505,607,735 and 840 of viddlercomments.php.

I also did not understand why the include statements in viddlercomments.php are pointing to the plugins\viddlercomments folder when it is actually plugins\the-viddler-wordpress-plugin so I changed all occurrences of plugins\viddlercomments in viddlercomments.php to plugins\the-viddler-wordpress-plugin.

I still cannot see my videos when it the loader pops up. I actually have to search using tags for my video and then I can load it.

I have not looked at the "headers already sent" error on the dashboard yet.

Colin, great work on the plugin and many thanks. Any chance of getting it more "polished" and PHP5 friendly?

Any update on this, I'm having the same problem...I think its the same.

Ok so I'm super green at all of the wordpress and viddler stuff. I am trying to post videos I shoot on my mac compress them upload and host them on viddler and post them to my blog on wordpress. My hosting service is bluehost. I have downloaded and activated the viddler 1.2.3 plugin and when I'm under new post and hit the viddler option in the upload/insert section I get this:

Now should I just go to viddlers blog settings and add my blog through that? Would that just be easier?

scottmessner's idea and changed all the phpviddler to php5viddler. I am no longer getting a whole lot of confusing code at the top of my WP dashboard. But when I select Viddler when writing a post, this comes up:

I do not understand this stuff. Also, (I have also noticed this on a few other blogs) that when clicking on "Record video comment from webcam" (or whatever), a popup 'thing' doesnt come up, it just does nothing!

I'm getting the same error when I try to add a video. Also the Viddler Button is a Question Mark (the icon must not be in the correct location).
Just posting this to let you know that it's still an issue. I'm running 2.7.1 WP.

This is so disappointing. I swear at one point it worked, but now I get the above errors. I can't remember if it worked in 2.7, but not now in 2.71? I have deactivated nearly all the plugins, but still get that error. I submitted a bug report, but never got a response. I really like Viddler, but this should be addressed.

Hi all. An update to the plugin will be rolled out today that will address all of these issues. However, for PHP5 users, you'll still need to manually change phpviddler.php to php5viddler.php. I have been unable to "detect" this yet.

Version 1.3 will be available soon.

thanks soo much! The link is working and the box comes up fine, although I am unable to login onto that box, and also The 'Record' and the 'Choose' links don't work on the box. But, otherwose everything else works fine!!
