Viddler

Hello Viddlers, you may have noticed we're having some issues this morning. Everything is ok, no one spilt any milk on the servers or anything - we just have to feed the mouse that spins the wheel in our storage servers.

For the moment you're unable to upload or record any video. Bummer, we know. However, you're still able to do some things that maybe you could use this time wisely to do! For example, you can leave a comment on all of your friend's videos, or visit the forums and see what is going on there, or better yet - maybe you could fill out your profile with a good description, avatar, your flickr and twitter account information, and tag yourself to help other people find you and when they do they actually have something to look at! Until then, I leave you with my lolcat - his name is Pickles.

I'll update this post when we're up and running smoothly again, until then - you've got your tasks to complete!

Tweaking my profile here and there after reading this - found that I couldn't upload a new profile picture, it looks like what happens when I click the "Upload" button is that the upload form is replaced with a frame containing the Viddler front page (or, more accurately, my Dashboard, since I'm logged in.) ?

Ok, back to actually fixing these issues. Rob and team are on it.

While we're waiting for our storage servers to be wrestled into submission - lets have a little fun with Rob. You can download the original file - then just upload it after you're done editing and link it up from this forum.

Haha - Oh Snap!

We're scheduling a little bit of downtime (aka rebooting of various systems) so expect some errors even to the point of not being able to watch videos etc. until we get everything back up and running.

Update: We're almost back at full strength. I'm able to update via the blog now read the official post here. I'll update y'all when I have more.

Update at 12:15 EST: Viddler is alive and kicking, as reported by our fearless leader. If you have any troubles please report them in the forum thread we've created so that we can respond to your issues promptly. We appreciate your patience during this outage. Now get back to exploring.

Don't know if it's related, but I'm trying to upload a 117Mb video to my freshly-created account, and it's already stalled twice about a third of the way in. Using Flock/OSX. Trying a third time...

Steph: Were you able to get it uploaded? I do not think we're having any issues at the moment? I've even known our uploader to resume uploads of a connection is lost. Let me know if you are still having issues, and I'll have someone look into it immediately.
