Hi, I'm a newbie here at Viddler and the day after I joined up I recieved the following from an unknown person named Cynthiababy,

"Hello Dear.
How are you hope you are fine, My name is Miss favor i saw your profile today and became interested in you,i will also like to know you the more,and i want you to send a mail to my email address so i can give you my picture for you to know whom l am.Here is my email address(favor_ray11@yahoo.com).I believe we can move from here.I am waiting for your mail to my email address above.miss favor.(Remember the distance or colour does not matter but love matters alot in life)
Please reply me with my email address here(favor_ray11@yahoo.com)."

I was suspicious and replied to her message at the email address given via my Yahoo account. All I asked this person was "Who are you?"

Today I checked my Yahoo email and this person had replied to me in the following manner,





"Hello My dear,
Thanks once again, I am more than happy in your reply to my mail. How was your day? mine was cool over here in Dakar Senegal. My name is miss favor Ray from Ivory Coast in west Africa and presently, I am residing in the refugee camp here in dakar Senegal, as a result of the civil war going on in my country. I was a first year student of law at the university, before the incident that lead me into this situation of living in the camp.

My late father Dr Ray Benson was the personal advicer to the former head of states, also a successful business man import and exporter of Cocoa during his life time, before the rebels attacked my house one early morning killing my mother and my father. Equally my mother was a senior lecturer at the university before her death, it was only me that is alive now because I was the only child to my parents and I managed to make my way to near by country Senegal, where I am leaving now.

I would like to know more about you.Your likes and dislikes, as I love cooking, handball, cooking reading,etc. I don't like dishonest people will like you to tell me your hobbies and what you are doing presently. I will tell more about myself in my next mail,actually my language is french and english but i speak english very fluntely,

favor."

The email contained two photo's of a very attractive African girl that looked like they were taken from a fashiom catalogue.

I have since reported this person to the fraud authorities at Yahoo.
Pleased be advised of this and let me know if anyone else has received any such messages as I think this to be a scam. Thanks for reading this, Newvid007

I get one of those emails every week.
As a joke, just give them the number to the Local Police and let them tell on themeselves.
