What are the video cameras you folks are using? I'm using a Canon PowerShot SD630.

I'm using the SnagIt screen shot 1.0. It sucks at taking video of anything not on my computer screen. :)

Which video camera is the most desirable for clarity and ease of use?

This HD Camcorder is super slick. One of the worst things about traditional camcorders is the transfer wait. In DV format you must watch the whole thing be converted to digital. If you combine this with an external harddrive + Viddler for large file video distribution, the possibilities are limitless!

I have not yet been able to get it. For now, I am using a $150 Casio Exilim EX-Z60 6MP for all my video recording needs.

Hey...
I shoot with a dvx100a. it's an awesome camera, a work horse, actually that takes a beating...but I'd like to get something smaller for running with the bulls type of stuff....

I have a JVC DX97U. It works great for just day to day use.

I dont have a video camera, but i have a web cam on most of my computers. :( Once our 'caffeinated ventures' take root we will hopefully have enough to buy a pro-am hd camera. Then comes the movie making.

I have the Pure Digital Point & Shoot, which is perhaps the simplest, easiest, and cheapest camcorder option available. I've been very pleased with it. It's not a powerhouse but it gets the job done.

While I am new to the site and the forums, I figure I have to start somewhere with posting and/or learning my way around. I recently acquired my first personal camcorder as a gift for my 21st birthday and have been loving it ever since. It is a Sony HDR-SR1 which has a 30gb hard drive and records in 1080i HD. I don't think I could possibly want anything more in a camera... except maybe for it to be waterproof, and grant wishes...

I used to use my stills camer, which is a 'Sony Cyber Shot', to take video, for my birthday I got a 'JVC 20GB HDD camcorder,' which I use now.

I want to get that camera badlag, it's really expensive but it's worth every penny. Unfortunately I only have a webcam, my cellphone's camera, and my camera's video feature ( with no sound:[ ), but none of those are good enough for me.

:) A great man once told me: "Save your nickels and dimes". I've listened to that message, and look where I am now... paying for gas with quarters... *sigh*

For my videoblogging, I carry with me the Sony Cybershot M2 hybrid camera and I wear the Archos 704 wifi with helmet cam. :)

Well I use my DXG-595 for anything external. But I use my iSight for most of anything else.

I got:

Keychain Argus DC-1015 (DSC 2770, requires drivers to be used as webcam in windows, PnP still cam in Linux), least used.

D-Link DSC 350F (DSC web/still cam in windows, requires drivers to work. On Linux, it's PnP, just a still cam.), sometimes used.

Fujifilm Finepix A345, 4MP, shoots 320x240/160x120 video, takes xD cards, requires High Capacity NiMH batteries to operate properly. WILL NOT work on generic/unbranded NiMH batteries. Doubles as an xD memory card reader.

Panasonic PV-GS 85 16:9 MiniDV Camcorder, formally most-used, now just used as a webcam. MiniDV tape drive has 1 or more jammed heads. Was able to shoot HD with proper codec.

Blackberry Pearl 8130 (Video Camera app without zoom. 1.3MP Digital Camera app, 1x/3x/5x digital zoom, moderate audio quality @ 11025 KHz)

Pocket PC 6700 (HTC Apache) running windows mobile 6.0 fridge, has digital/video camera app, can capture in 3 video sizes (320x240, MMS video size, 128x96), least used device.

Vintage Kodac DC240 1MP digital camera, takes 4 NiMH batteries, takes CF cards, works fine, takes nice clear, crisp pictures, still least used.

Logitech Quickchat Express Pro/100/1000 webcam, works on windows with drivers, (driver is LAGGY) NOT tested on Mac OS X (most likely requires drivers or is PnP), PnP on Linux, dark as HELL CMOS censor, ultra smooth video capture/preview.

That's what I got. What's everybody else use?

We're currently shooting our show on the T1i. A great little camera to shoot 720p on, but the mov files can be difficult to work with. We run sound through an H4n . It's a really compact way to get some great looking/sounding video.

Mainly I use my Flip HD nano. I ♥ my Flip. Sometimes I use my Canon digital camera. Most of my stuff it's about the dating and relationship tips content, not the beauty of my filming. lol.

Record in VGA (640x480), save but stepup size to 720x480 or 800x600 and still looks great. I used my netbook's webcam, my logitech webcam, an old keychain webcam and a choppy D-Link webcam to capture in CGA, EGA, VGA, SVGA, XGA and HD. The picture is magnified, most non-snowy cameras will produce a fantastic picture. The camcorder (using USB/TV Card input) is able to endure HD capture, producing a 100% clear, snow/speckle/noise-free picture @ 30-60 fps.

I have the Nikon Coolpix P60. It's clearly meant for taking pictures, but when I can record TV-resolution videos at a cost of only about two pictures per second, you can bet I'm taking advantage of it.
