Viddler

I've spoken to Jason (jwaldrip) about this over Skype, but I think it's time for me to note it in here as it just happened again.

Ever since the recent site upgrade I get logged out of my Viddler account about every 24 hours (sometimes exactly 24 hours, sometimes not). Usually it happens between the hours of 2100hrs and midnight (AEST).

When it does occur it usually happens more than once within a half an hour. The log outs have been happening mostly when I'm in the middle of watching a video; I'll click to tag/comment a video on the timeline and the spinning 'load' arrow will just keep spinning and spinning. I can't tag/comment because I've been logged out. It also just happened while I was clicking through 'Friends' Recent Videos'.

I'm running OS X 10.4.11, Firefox 2.0.0.14, and the latest Flash client. I also always have 'Remember me' ticked.

I tried clearing my cookies, but this didn't work in clearing up my problem; 24 hours later I was logged out again.

I'd like to stay logged in when I'm on my computer. Thanks. :)

djsteen, are you still having issues with this? I know you've been talking with Jason, but just wanted to check in and see if the problem is resolved.

Yup. It's already happened twice today. It's incredibly annoying when I type a timed video comment/tag and it just never saves.

I was just about to have a freak-out on Twitter, but thought checking for a reply to this might help.

I know that the tech people were talking about yesterday and Jason is having trouble reproducing the error himself. I think Rob has seen it, but I haven't and Jason hasn't, so it only seems to affect certain people. Per Jason, they're still looking into it with the developers to try and figure out where the problem's coming from and what we can do about it.

I'll definitely keep you posted as I learn anything, and if some time passes and you're still not seeing any answers, don't hesitate to follow up with me or with Jason.

Just to say that I do not have this issue. My Firefox is set to clear cache, cookies, authenticated sessions, and more when I close it. But when I do not close my Firefox, it stays logged in. I do not use IE, so I do not know if IE does this or not. I am thinking that it could be a cookie problem or an Internet Security problem. Maybe look into that to see if that could be the issue.
