Encoding Problem (by ChaoticXFlames)

I had tried to upload a video on the Batch Uploader. It uploaded fine but once it got to the Encoding, for some reason it automatically stopped itself and that there was encoding problem.

So I tried to reupload it again and the same problem occurs for any other video I want to upload. I also tried out the Simple Uploader and it keeps telling me that the video's encoding was cancelled.

I would like some help please.

Well its been a while and my videos have not appeared. In fact they don't even encode. It uploads and then the Encoding fails right away. Hence why I keep getting Encoding Error messages.

I've been trying to reupload something in the Batch Uploader. But now the Encoding tab is full of videos thats failed to Encode.

So I tried uploading something different. Now anything I upload won't encode at all.

Any more information? What filetype is your video? How big is it?
With more information you can get help faster. :)

Same here. My windows movie maker is only 48 MB and won't encode.

Maybe it's a file format problem. Could you try with a flv, avi, or mov file?

Most of my videos are in wmv format. I haven't tried uploading an AVI file or any other format.

Mine are WMV also. Maybe that's the problem?

Yeah, I still get this error, but maybe it'll work for me in time. Good to hear that this was addressed very quickly, though!

EDIT: I actually tried what Xarver suggested (changing the format to .flv), and it actually worked just fine under the batch uploader. I'm glad I checked here. Thanks, guy!

No problem. And flv is good for screencasts. :)

Thanks for troubleshooting this with the Viddlerers, Xarver!

It's pretty obvious there's been random encoding failures across the weekend that weren't expected. Sometimes my videos go through, sometimes they don't. As Jesusfrk stated towards the beginning of this post, we'll try to re-encode every failed video possible. Hence, your failed video(s) may magically appear in your video section. This happened to me.

Everything should be running smoothly asap. (I'm testing a large upload now.)

Lastly, we never re-encode .FLV files, thus they should be available in your video section as soon as the upload is done. I looooove .FLVs for screenscasts in Full Screen! #handytip

homebiz,
This should be worked out. I know we were having issues before our launch about 2 weeks ago. :)

I uploaded a video in .avi formate with 494mb size back on Thanksgiving. It has been sitting at 0% encoded ever since. I tried re-uploading the same file today with a different filename, but I got and encoding stopped message. What's going on?

I am having a similar problem. I uploaded a video last night and it worked fine. Then I uploaded a second video and this one keeps getting stuck on an encoding error. I have tried changing the name, and using both the batch upload and the simple upload.

If anyone can help me get this video encoded, that would be great, thanks!
