WASHINGTON DC - Senator Al Franken makes his opening statement in the confirmation hearings for Judge Sonia Sotomayor to become a Justice in the United States Supreme Court.
Franken expressed concern that the US Supreme Court had not expressed proper deference to Congressional laws and that individuals' rights had become imperiled by too many decisions in the favor of large interests.
