Got a job offer today. Not sure it is one I want to take. I just don't know if I will be able to provide for myself and my wife with it and have the ability to pursue my dream too. It s a really great company though. Not sure what to do. On the marketing front, I run through the benefits of posting video online and what some services you could use are. Brief mentions include the one and only viddler.com, vimeo.com, youtube.com, and ustream.com. Also, I have to suggest every business person out there give a Blackberry a try. I know, as an Apple fan, I really do know. There are so many flashy phones out there and I really was hesitant about Blackberry, but absolutely love mine. Last, I have music suggestion, but you will have to watch the video to find it.

Interviews, interviews, interviews. I am starting to wonder when the offers will come or if they will?!?! It's been almost 5 weeks now since I haven't had a job and the money is starting to run out. That would mean the show should be getting good right? Crisis mode? Really I can't say I am THAT worried. Onto the other topic. How to market yourself as a small business. I talk about building relationships and letting those relationships sell for you. Talk to any car salesman and ask him how much is that new client worth if they are satisfied. Three more cars + two from family and friends. Not completely sure, but a buddy who sold cars said that was the gold mine. Lastly, I recommend all you mac users and productivity freaks check out Quicksilver. You can find it here:http://www.blacktree.com/ It might take a bit to get used to, but clear the dock and get ready to type and produce.

Wow, I've been away for a little while. Why? Well a tree fell on my car. Needless to say that hasn't helped an unemployed person at all. Other than that it has all been about interviews. I have had several. Some good and promising, others not quite as good. On the marketing front. I would suggest taking a look at ZOHO Projects. You can find them at www.zoho.com. A great little project management tool that is incredibly powerful and unusually cheap.

First, I wanted to share that I am still waiting for my third interview at Company 1, but the date has been confirmed. I have had 2 other first interviews since then. Good times, but the timing is getting close considering I have been "unemployed" for 3 weeks. Second, I talk about relativity, in the branding sense. I wanted to share how I have learned recently that there are benefits in thinking of your skills relative to others. Not necessarily better or worse, but how are you different from you competition or coworkers. Third, I would suggest taking a look at Evernote.com. I have been using the free version of their software and service and am seriously considering upgrading because of the quality they offer. Handwriting recognition and the first affordable possibility of going paperless? WOW!

Wow! I've been completely scatter brained today. I can't put two thoughts together, so I want to apologize for how awful I know this video is. Basically this is a get involved speech. I think that creating a community or being involved in a group whether online or offline is imperative to long term success for your small business. So many people, including myself, rely too much on promotions and discounting schemes to generate sales. I have been slowly realizing that my best clients are either people I have developed a relationship with outside the bounds of my work or people who have been referred to me by people like this. Go out and get involved where your audience is. AND, have fun doing it.
