We were on a mission to find this small reservation in the Talamanca Mountain area. We had read a bit about this area on the internet and really wanted to find out more. This group of people has lived the same way for thousands of years.

Day 14-16 Lost in Panama

3 days of getting lost in Panama and various fun mishaps. We visited Changuinola, David, and Chirqui Grande. Panama is beautiful but We couldn't wait to get back home to Costa Rica.

Day 16&17 Out of Panama, Into Pavones Costa Rica

We got the diesel leak in the Landcruiser fixed in David, Panama and moved on to the border of Costa Rica. We drove up to Pavones. Home of the world 2nd largest left hand curl in surfing. It's also right next to the end of the road in CR.

Day 21 Sleeping on the River outside Tambor

We found a nice spot by the river to set up camp and scout for food. We had a couple fresh lobsters and found some good fungus to eat as well.

8, Freezing Cold in Costa Rica, Irazu Volcano

Went up about 10000 feet to Irazu Volcano. Couldn't see a thing because of the fog, but stayed in a cool little cabin place. It was COLD!

Day 6&7, Stuck In San Jose, Hostel Pangea

We needed to get papers to bring the landcruiser across the border and wanted to get some suspension work done too. We also stayed at Hostel Pangea. San Jose is nice for shopping and getting supplies, but we're not city people.

Day 3, Cano Negro, Alligator City, Costa Rica Lowlands

Cano Negro, the Northern Costa Rican Lowlands.Swamp and Aligators everywhere. Good times on the river. We camped out in this guy named Pedro's back yard.

Crossing Golfo Nicoya, Puntarenas Ferry, Day 20

We're taking the ferry from Puntarenas to the Nicoya peninsula. This ferry costs 600 Colones per person. $1.20! And about 5000 per vehicle. I think it's the best cheap tourist activity around. It's absolutely beautiful!

Murcielago, Howler Monkey Heaven, Day 2

We're stuck in Murcielago due to the darkness approaching. We just stayed there till morning and took off. You weren't allowed to fish here or use wood for fire. Only charcoal or gas. The howler monkey video and audio is pretty cool on this one.

Eating off the beach, Stingray Kill, Day 1

First night of camping. No food except some carrots. It started with a failed shortcut up North and ended with fresh cactus, weird beans that tasted good, and a tasty stingray provided by the ocean god.
