Before handling any firearm, review safe firearm handling rules.

Visually inspect the chamber to verify weapon is empty.

After verifying the weapon is empty, point the pistol in a safe direction and pull the trigger.

Grasp the slide and hold the slide to the rear about 1/10th of an inch.
Simultaneously, pull down the slide lock on both sides of the weapon.

Push the recoil spring forward slightly and lift away from the barrel

When placing slide on receiver, ensure the slots in the rear of the slide line up with the tabs in the receiver.

Always remember to store weapons in a secure location out of the reach of children
