净空法师主讲 - 学佛释疑134 (9 Feb 2007) 下面是新加坡同學的提問，他有三個問題。問：弟子是一名家庭主婦，時常至道場齋堂做義工，看到一些情況，在此提出報告，敬請指導。第一個，道場的蔬菜用量大，廚房在處理時，時常以報紙包裹蔬菜，再放入冰箱。弟子以為，報紙的油墨、化學成分會滲透入蔬菜，對身體健康有害，建議盡量用白報紙或厚紙巾包裹蔬菜為佳。答：這條真的是很重要的，報紙的油墨是有毒的。如果要不小心的話，真的無意當中中毒。中毒如果輕，沒有什麼大的妨礙，重的時候，你就會有反應。很不好！所以決定不能用報紙，就是有油墨印的東西去包食物。不僅是食物，所有吃的東西都不可以用報紙包，應該用白紙。這是要特別注意。白紙裡最好不要有顏色的，白色的是最乾淨，不要有顏色的，這是應該要特別留意。報紙包食物放在冰箱，那是最糟糕的事情，因為什麼？報紙油墨會把你整個冰箱裡面所有食物，它都會染的有這些毒素，不僅是你包的；你不包的東西都受影響，這要特別注意。問：第二、清洗蔬菜花費的時間、人力較多，廚房工作者時常在前二、三天先將未洗的蔬菜切好，等需要用時再拿出來，大概沖沖水，然而菜梗的地方常常存有大量的泥沙，未能洗盡，且蔬菜養分早已流失。答：這真的也要注意。這些我們在吃的時候，像這些泥沙我們也常常遇到。這就是人多的時候，常常會有這些疏忽，這是我們應當要特別注意的。蔬菜洗的時候，最好沒有用的時候不要洗；洗了的時候，就切出來就下鍋，這是保持它的養分。洗乾淨擺在那裡，擺了一、二天養分確實是流失。問：第三、許多人在洗手後，沒有將水龍頭沖洗乾淨，時常水龍頭上面還殘留著許多清潔劑。等關水龍頭時，手上又沾上清潔劑，然後直接和麵粉切菜等等。答：這些我們沒有想到，但是她說的，在我想很有可能。為什麼現在許多我看到的，人家看到出家同修，沒有養成一種好的生活習慣。開水龍頭忘掉關，或者關的時候關不緊，還滴水，我常常見過。諸位如果看到我用水，我浴室裡面，浴缸跟所有的臉盆，你們去看看，我使用的壽命比別人至少可以延長十年。什麼原因？用過之後，一定用乾布擦乾淨。所以我用了十年東西，你去看像新的一樣，就這麼一點點，你把它擦乾淨，不要上面有水的痕跡在。那東西在時間久的時候擦不掉，舉手之勞。這是什麼？這是生活習慣，從小養成的。我們小時候家裡父母管得很嚴格，所以從小養成一個好的習慣。衣服一定都疊得整整齊齊，不可以亂放。換洗的用具都要保持乾淨，你使用的時候衛生，使用的壽命就很長，決定不可以浪費，都要養成好習慣。可惜就是現在家庭裡面疏忽，學校老師也不教了。我們以前抗戰期間，讀書是住在學校，所以老師很辛苦，老師也代替父母的責任，對我們的生活起居都要管教。所以我們對老師的感情，真的跟父母一樣，非常感恩。問：下面她還有幾句話。上面種種細節，雖然微不足道，但弟子深感若不特別注意，確實有損大眾的飲食健康，特此提出，請老法師慈悲開示。答：這是好的建議，希望我們同學，不做義工的，你們聽到，在家庭裡面也要注意。家庭人少，生活比較簡單，容易做得到，這都是對健康關係很大。衣著也是如此，衣服一定要乾淨，洗得要乾淨，收拾要收拾好。毛製品的容易生蟲，要懂得防止，一定要整齊清潔。佛法講莊嚴，首先自己形象要莊嚴。形象很邋遢，也是有過失，過失是什麼？破壞佛教形象。為什麼？你是佛，你學佛就是代表佛教形象。你很邋遢，走到外面去，人家都不喜歡看你，不喜歡跟你接近，這是什麼？就是討厭佛法，討厭學佛，這是我們很大的過失。所以佛弟子要像菩薩一樣，所在之處，令一切眾生生歡喜心。
