We continue on the hunt for a truly exceptional American riesling. There must be some out there! We also decided to taste them blind so that the "reserve" bottling didn't benefit from the name. While some were quite good, the search continues. We tasted the 2008 Arcane Cellars Willamette Valley riesling, the 2007 Brooks WV riesling, the 2006 Brooks Ara WV riesling, and the 2008 Siltstone Hyland Vineyard riesling. This is considered a continental region but we think it should be a cool climate region - in fact you could say a bloody freezing region. It certainly was when we were there.
