Combining the influential dressage sires Bolero, Donnerhall, and Rubinstein into one impressive pedigree, Bugatti consistently passes his excellent rideability and elastic movement on to his offspring. Bimmer’s dam, Winsome A, further strengthens the dressage pedigree behind Bimmer. She is by the stallion Weltbekannt (Weltmeyer – Imperator) who was USDF Horse of the Year at Third Level, 2nd for Horse of the Year standings at Intermediaire II, and competed successfully through Grand Prix. His movement is light, elastic, and uphill; his natural balance is excellent; and his attitude is focused and workman-like. With solid basics behind him, he is quickly progressing in his training and would be ready to show later this fall. At his foal inspection Becket received the first premium designation and was the top foal of the day. Inspectors commented on the good use of his topline as well as the articulation in his joints as he moved as well as his beautiful, leggy type. Sire Royal Prince (Rohdiamant-Prince Thatch xx) is still the highest placing American owned horse at the World Championships for Young Horses with his fourth place finish as a five-year old. His exceptional basic paces and high rideability are consistently transmitted to his offspring. Silena, Becket’s dam, has received her Ster Predicate with the KWPN. She is by the International Grand Prix stallion Krack C (Flemmingh) and out of a Keur mare by Calypso. Becket has a complete set of digital x-rays available for review. Dark Horse Brewing Company, a tiny little brewery from Marshall, Michigan pushes out a decent amber ale - enough to intrigue us to want to try more of their offerings. What's interesting about this particular beer is that they use what they called "Belgian-inspired" yeast, which does lend this amber ale a somewhat sweeter, Belgian-like quality, which is not lost on us.

Sire Fred Astair (Fabriano – Godewind) is an FEI dressage stallion competing under Tom Noone. Fred Astair’s sire, Fabriano, won his Performance Testing with a score of 133 points and high marks in both the dressage and jumping portions. He has produced more than 10 approved sons and more than 50 State Premium Mares. Fontyn’s dam, SPS Malena, received an overall 8 at her studbook inspection and earned 8’s on gaits and rideability at her Mare Performance Test. She was sired by the Celle stallion Maurice (Matcho – Garibaldi II) was the winner of his Stallion Performance Test and went on to an FEI dressage career and was long-listed for the Canadian Dressage Team. Malena’s dam, Wonne, is a full-sister to the stallion Western Star, sire of Olympic medal winner Weyden. Fontyn attended the Dressage at Lexington Breed Show in July and placed 2nd in the Yearling Fillies class. In her second outing, she earned a 78.8 and placed 6th in the very competitive yearling Fillie's class at Dressage at Devon. Fontyn is well-behaved and easy to work with. Hannah Biggs teaches Beans canter changes (TRAILER)

Though he is progressed in his canter changes, Hannah shows her method of teaching flying changes right from the start and then demonstrates her system for developing tempi changes. Straightness is an prerequisite, as is being soft and on the aids. So half halts and simple changes are part of her warm-up. Hannah uses anticipation to teach a single change which is as useful for jumping as it is for dressage. She then shows how to build up sequence changes which take time and require a logical progression to become truly established.

Accompanied by British National Champion Anna Weston, we discover that Control of Paces involves dressage balance in walk and canter. The Obstacles test requires dexterity of horse and rider including immobility, bending poles, maneuvering and galloping under low branches whilst Orienteering involves map reading, plotting grid references, reading aerial photos! We are amazed by the variety of people and horses we encounter, from young to old, Western to side-saddle. Trec is a sport for everyone and a new lease of life for many!
