America's 95 Year Old Bus Icon Set To Revolutionise UK Inter-City Travel The UK's largest transport operator, FirstGroup today commences with the first UK routes of Greyhound coach services which will see the iconic American brand operating in the UK for the first time in its 95 year history. Greyhound UK launches its inaugural coach services with routes between London and the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton. Onboard features of the new coach service include leather seating, free wi-fi, air conditioning, free newspapers and up to 20% extra leg room - with 41 seats rather than the 50 typically operated by rival coach companies. Fares will start from £1 each way if booked online. The services will have kerb-side pick ups at a number of locations with non-stop journeys between cities. This will provide a journey time advantage of up to 40% over rival coach operators, whose services typically stop a number of times at intermediate locations. Distributed by Tubemogul.

GREYHOUND USA The legendary Greyhound coaches offer the only countrywide network of coach services in the USA and Canada. The US company was set up in Minnesota in 1914 by Carl Wickman, a Swedish immigrant. The coaches’ grey livery led them to being nicknamed ‘greyhounds’ and the company took on the name in 1929. Since then, the brand has become one of the most famous in the world and has been immortalised on the big screen including It Happened One Night (1934 - Clark Gable & Claudette Colbert); Midnight Cowboy (1969 – Jon Voight & Dustin Hoffman); Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961 – Audrey Hepburn, George Peppard); Sleepers (1996 - Robert De Niro & Kevin Bacon) and in popular pop and rock classics including Under the Boardwalk by The Drifters; New York State of Mind by Billy Joel; and America by Simon and Garfunkel. Greyhound racing is arguably one of the most exploiting forms of entertainment that we have today. Yet people who go to these tracks oftentimes don´t even realize what they are truly supporting. Yes, it is certainly no lie that greyhounds love to run. But no animal should have to run for the sole reason that people want to earn money. These dogs live for our entertainment. They are not well socialized and miss out on so many things that make a dog a dog things like getting to romp and play at a park, or learn a trick or two from their owners, or get out and have some fun exploring. Instead, these beautiful creatures are subjected to confinement and deprivation for most of their lives. And these are the lucky ones. The puppies that don´t make the cut are killed. They are killed, but why? The answer is simple. These are the puppies that they know won´t be profitable. If an animal isn´t profitable, then they are worthless in their eyes. What is so different about these dogs than the dogs that people have as pets? If someone were to have a pet dog and do these things to him or her, wouldn´t that be animal cruelty? Why or how can this be justified? It simply can´t. Watch this video to find out the truth yourself. And please, spread the word. The world is starting to wake up about this.
