During the time of the Tzemach Tzedek, the third Lubavitcher Rebbe, there were many women who's husbands had abandoned them without giving them a writ of divorce. This left them without their husband and without the ability to remarry. These women are called agunot. This week we read a story about how the Tzemach Tzedek, helped an agunah find her husband. This story is taken from the book The Third Judge

Time for cookies! Biscotti: 2 eggs 1 c sugar 1/2 c olive oil 2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 cups flour 1 cup yummies (nuts,coconut, chocolate chips, etc.) First bake at 375F for 20 minutes second bake at 325F for 10-20 minutes

Part 2 - Where-in we make Chili. Chili (as adapted) ------------------------ 2 sm onions 2 cloves of garlic 1/2 Tbsp (1 1/2 tsp) cumin 1/2 Tbsp chili powder 1/2 tsp oregano 14 oz chopped tomato 4 oz tomato paste 1 Tbsp Tamari 6 cups water 2 green bell peppers chopped 2 carrots sliced 1 large & 1 small can of beans (your choice in type) salt & pepper to taste

Bread, Soup and Cookies Part 1

In part 1 we make bread. First the sponge is made with: 3 cups warm water 1/4 cup sugar 2 Tbsp yeast 3 cups of flour Then we add: 1 Tbsp salt 1/4 oil 1 egg (optional) enough flour (about 3 cups) After braiding brush the loaves with egg if you want it shiny and cook it at 425F for 10 minutes and then turn down to 400F for about 30 minutes (until done)
