净空法师主讲学佛释疑209 (10/09/2008) 問：第十四題，我的工作是計畫分派農藥，親自試農藥殺蟲的效果，提高各種殺蟲效果，罪業深重。請問應如何懺悔？答：最好是改行，不要再繼續幹這個事情。已經殺的這些蟲，你要替牠做超度，真正是誦經、念佛迴向給牠。這個行業不能做，殺蟲劑能解決農業問題嗎？你們自己好好想一想，它不能解決。所以殺蟲藥是愈來愈進步，毒性愈來愈厲害。這些小蟲牠能夠適應，現前的農藥殺不死牠，你必須要再加強，再研究更強的。更強的出來之後，這一批殺死了，底下一批牠又能適應　讓你不斷的發展，發展到最後，這個農藥可以殺人，牠的報復就來了。你吃這個東西，牠死了，你也活不了。這是我們看到的現象，所以這解決不了問題。我們自己也嘗試農作物不用殺蟲，不用農藥，不用化肥，用過去從前古代老方法來種植。這些病害蟲很多，我們跟牠溝通，像我們的菜園，我們畫一個角落，這個菜園專門供養你們，你們可以到那邊吃。那一條以外的，那是我們吃的，你不能來吃很守信用，比人好，人有的時候說話不算話，小蟲說話算話，牠竟然是牠就吃牠那一塊地方的，其他都留給我們。我們實驗了差不多有十年，很有效果，而且農作物長得比一般他們的長得還好，這就說明可以用溝通的方法。果木樹也是一樣，我在澳洲的時候種了很多果木樹，鳥來吃，跟鳥約定，指定幾棵樹專門給鳥吃的，其他不是指定的，鳥不可以去吃，牠都守約。所以，一些小蟲、小鳥都很聽話，很好相處。最近齊素萍居士在慶雲種了一片小麥，四百多畝，長得很好。在收割前幾天發現有蟲，大家都驚慌。到最後齊素萍也想通了，我寧願四百畝小麥不要，供給蟲吃，我也不殺牠。帶著一些同修們到小麥田裡去念阿彌陀佛，就在那裡繞佛，在田埂上繞佛。念了半天以後，到第二天，她說下了一陣雨，刮了一陣風，再去看這些蟲一個都沒有了，豐收，大豐收。附近的農民都非常驚訝，怎麼會有這種事情？這大家親眼看見的，她打電話告訴我，大豐收，感應不可思議！所以，不能跟這些小蟲結怨。這些小蟲都有靈性，都懂得人的意思，你以善心待牠，牠也好心報答你，不來找麻煩。

I met Steve Tucker, a farmer in western Nebraska, out in a corn field in the middle of nowhere. But Steve gets a strong enough signal on his Blackberry that he can tweet from his tractor. Steve is helping to connect people on Twitter to the people that grow the foods that we eat. He is creating awareness of what goes into farming on a daily basis. Follow Steve on Twitter at @tykerman1 The weather cooperated during our interview. Unfortunately, a few hours after I left a major hail storm hit that ruined most of his crops. I think he was insured for this kind of thing, but it sucks regardless.
