Wild in the Streets vind ik echt een van de gaafste event van het jaar. Het blijft iets magisch hebben om 300 skateboarders door de stad te zien rijden. Autoâs die moeten stoppen, spots die gewoon geskate worden en een politie die niets doet. Dit jaar was Eindhoven voor een aantal uur het paradijs op aarde.Muziek van Jet Lag Gemini en the Powerknobs. Christien Meindertsma, Makers & Spectators

Makers & Spectators is an experimental exhibit exploring the concept of seeing the same thing differently. By using eyetrackers, Christien Meindertsma researches how people view objects. The data is visualized in various forms, including the help of Nils Völkers’ robots (built with of the shelf parts). Stationsvoorkant Eindhoven

Achterkant station Eindhoven. Ook hier domineert de auto, en die krijgt een overmaat aan ruimte, ten koste van de voetganger en de fietser. Maar bovenal domineert De Achterkant: prikkeldraad, dichte gevels, donkere tunnels, hoogteverschillen, olifantenpaden, betonnen bunkers, scheve en slecht onderhouden elementen in de openbare ruimte. Is het alleen maar ellende in Eindhoven? Gelukkig niet. Het fraai aangelegde Limbopad en het gelandscapete park dat het nieuwe kantoor van de Kamer van Koophandel verbindt met de TUe laat zien hoe mooi het kan zijn. Zou het mogelijk zijn?

Station Eindhoven stationstocht naar de achterkant

Van de voor- naar achterkant in Eindhoven. Het stationsgebouw aan de voorkant is prachtig en heeft veel meer potentie dan hoe die nu wordt benut. De gang onder de sporen door is laag en bedrukkend.

Voorkant station 's-Hertogenbosch in 360 graden. Deze voorkant is integraal meeontwikkeld vanuit de totaalvisie op het Paleiskwartier. De doelstelling is duidelijk: het station krijgt twee gelijkwaardig functionerende gezichten.

Remember those little pirate radio stations in the 80?s? Enter the p2p radio broadcaster by Juan Esteban Rios, this little device provides a means to transmit audio content to local radio receivers, and by having the listeners act as peers, the network can be expanded as much as it needs to. Overlooked communities in remote areas or poor urban environments can now take back the radio airwaves. The device is also powered by handcranking it, 1 minute for every 40 minutes of airtime.

Thomas Traxler, Autonomous furniture

Powered by nothing but sunlight and some threads, Thomas Traxlers' "The idea of a tree project" shows us how objects can grow during the course of a day. The installation is powered by a couple of solar cells which power the entire device, causing the process to move faster or slower depending on the amount of available light. The speed of the process determines the amount of saturation of the thread, giving a visual recording in the resulting object. Thomas Traxler just graduated from the IM Masters department of the Design Academy Eindhoven, 2008.
