The way to deal with fear is first acknowledging it is there. Understanding that fear will do anything to get in our way, to keep us from what we really want. It is sneaky, tricky and manipulative. It will disguise itself, persist and never stop until it gets what it wants - control over us. Just admiting that it is there and understanding that we have to deal with it is the way to begin handling it and getting out of the way. Building a Strong Business Team by Creating a Code of Honor

http://johnseiferth.com Day 8 of the 39 Day Challenge. Code of Honor. One of my most brilliant mentors is Blair Singer, author of Sales Dogs and The ABCs of Building Business Teams That Win. He is an excellent speaker, brilliant business mind and an awesome guy. One of the core tools he refers to in the ABCs book is what he calls a Code of Honor. Simply put: a set of rules and consequences. We are always playing games. In our relationships, organizations, teams, businesses, etc. Each interaction is a different game and each game has its own set of rules. Now, if each person in the interaction comes in with his/her own set of rules, imagine the chaos. A code of honor helps to unify the rules into a single list that everyone agrees on. That way, each player is on the same page and understands how to play the game. The code of honor also includes the consquences of breaking the rules. Again, each player agrees on what it going to happen when someone breaks a rule. This allows the team to use the code as the disciplinary tool, instead of each other. It gets emotion out of the way. If you are building a team for a business, a family, or an organization, start with a code of honor that everyone can agree on. When you are an employee (an 'E' in the CASHFLOW Quadrant), the reason you work so hard for your boss or company is because you are accountable. If you don't complete a task, there are consequences. However, if you are a business owner (a 'B' in the CASHFLOW Quadrant), you are only accountable to yourself, and most of the time, we are pretty loose on holding ourselves accountable. RoadKill weekends is organized by “Shot-in-the-dark productions” it’s a crazy idea we had while doing studio time…We decided to make everybody happy. We squeeze all invitations in one night,3 to 4 shows on each Friday and Saturday. Driving fast to each clubs around Shenzhen…We had a blast and such an adventure. As you can hear how my voice is hoarse and I was dead tired but it was a success that we have to do it twice a month.
