世间所流传各种大灾难预言的说法是真的吗?

净空法师主讲 - 学佛释疑 121 (1 Dec 2006) 問：第一個問題，請問世間所流傳各種大災難預言的說法是真的嗎？答：那我先要問兩個問題，看相算命先生說一個人的命運，你說是真的嗎？真有命運嗎？風水先生講地理風水，是真的嗎？諺語有句話說的很好，「信則有，不信則無」，那你到底是信還是不信？確實有人信，有人不信，中國外國都一樣，有人相信，有人不相信，相信的人也不在少數，不信的人也很多。那到底有沒有？我們看看佛法裡所說的，佛法講因果，《十善業道經》上講的很清楚，中國道教《太上感應篇》一開頭就講這個問題，「禍福無門，惟人自召，善惡之報，如影隨形」，佛肯定這個事實。所以極樂跟我們娑婆世界有沒有差別？給諸位說，毫無差別。大經裡面佛告訴我們，「一切眾生本來成佛」，那我們跟釋迦牟尼佛、跟阿彌陀佛有沒有差別？說真話，沒有差別。沒有差別裡面他起了差別，差別怎麼起來的？世尊說得好，「但以妄想執著而不能證得」，這就說明原因了。我們跟阿彌陀佛、跟釋迦牟尼佛的差別在哪裡？他沒有妄想、沒有分別、沒有執著，我們現在有妄想、有分別、有執著。這就是說明，他是個沒有分別妄想執著的佛，我們現在是有妄想分別執著的佛，都是佛，不一樣。我們要是把妄想分別去掉，放下、捨棄掉，你跟阿彌陀佛、跟釋迦牟尼佛就沒有分別，跟《華嚴經》上講的毘盧遮那佛也沒有分別，完全一樣；智慧一樣，德能一樣，福報一樣，確實沒有差別。你今天為什麼不肯放下？佛講得很好，放下對世出世間一切法的執著，你就叫阿羅漢，阿羅漢放下了三分之一；再把分別放下，你就成菩薩，菩薩放下了三分之二，還有三分之一，那三分之一是妄想；再把妄想放下，你就成佛了。所以你要問，我怎麼修行？修行沒有別的，就是放下，放下才叫真正修行功夫，放下就是，為什麼不肯放下？我是剛剛接觸佛法的時候，因緣很殊勝，遇到章嘉大師，頭一天是我一生當中第一次見出家人，就是見他。我就向他請教，我說佛法好我知道，有沒有什麼方法讓我很快就能契入？他就告訴我六個字，「看得破，放得下」。看得破是明瞭、是智慧，放下是真功夫，就真的回頭了。怎樣看破？要放下，你才能看破，然後看破幫助你再放下，放下幫助你再看破，就是這四個字，從初發心到如來地。八萬四千法門，無量法門，都離不開這個原則，離開這個原則就不能成就。所以這是修行的總綱領、總原則，十方三世一切諸佛修行證果就是這麼成就的。看破是真學問，放下是真功夫。所以只要你放下一切的惡念，不善的念頭、不善的言語、不善的行為，災難就沒有了。大乘經裡面佛說得好，水災，你看現在報紙上常常報導，南北極的冰在加速度的融化，這是大災難。聯合國在前幾年發布了一個訊息，說二一００年，也就是說，今年是二００六年，再過幾天就是二００七年；換句話說，還有九十三年，九十三年之後地球上再也看不到冰了，冰這個名詞變成歷史上的名詞，冰沒有了。冰沒有了，諸位知道，這問題很嚴重。海水上升，要上升七十米，預算水要上升七十米，全世界靠海岸的都市統統被淹了，這是大災難。為什麼會有這個災難？佛說貪心。貪心所感得的是水災，瞋恚感得的是火災，愚痴所感的是風災，心裡頭不平，不平所感得的是地震，這是佛講的。你看這個天然災害，如果我們沒有貪心，冰就不會融化，水又會結成冰；我們沒有瞋恚，就沒有火山；我們沒有愚痴，颱風、颶風都沒有了，龍捲風都沒有了；我們沒有不平，心平氣和，地震就沒有了。你說是不是《感應篇》所說的「禍福無門，惟人自召」？我們看看災難有沒有？好像是有，為什麼？走遍全世界，哪個地方的人沒有貪瞋痴慢？貪瞋痴慢要到飽和點，這個事情就麻煩了，什麼災難都會出現。所以我們學佛的人，甚至於世界上許多宗教徒，認真修行的人都是在化解災難。確實古人講的，一百個當中有一個修行人，災難都可以把它擺平，雖然不能消滅，會減輕，百分之一。這個比例在今天做不到，在我想大概一萬人當中有一個善人，這大概還差不多，應該有這個數字。真正發心，把自己學習的功德迴向祈求世界和平，會有效果。我們過去看日本江本博士他做了個實驗，日本的琵琶湖，非常大，像海一樣。靠近岸邊上有個小的海灣，湖的湖灣，二十多年因為水流不出去，死水，所以水很臭、很髒，走到那邊的人都是掩著鼻子而過。他就在那個水邊上做了個實驗，找了三百五十個人，請了一位法師，好像九十多歲的一位老法師，帶領大家祈禱一個小時。集中意念，大家起一個念頭，念什麼？「湖水乾淨了」，就念這一句，湖水乾淨了。三百五十個人一起念，念了一個小時，三天之後湖水真的乾淨了。所以日本的新聞報紙都大力的報導，從來沒有方法解決，它
