The most successful business owners, entrepreneurs, athletes, musicians, performers ALL have coaches. There is no getting around it. If you want to be successful, if you want to get to the top of your game, you MUST have a coach. I had a call with my friend and my coach, Mike Dillard yesterday and he laid it down hard. He took me through the ringer and gave me some assignments that I would never have given myself. He asked straight forward, direct and brutal questions about how I am doing in my business, what am I doing on a day-to-day basis and tore the whole thing apart. He then laid down four things that I need to complete before next week and told me I should have no problem completing them. We have forgotten how to honor each other, honor our relationships, honor our commitments. To me, honoring someone is the highest form of respect we can show. It is the basis for all of our relationships, be it personal, business, political, etc. If the relationship does not have honor at its core, then there is nothing to build on. There is no foundation. It is my intention to place honor at the core of all my relationships moving forward. Whether it be with my wife, my kids, as a provider of a service or a consumer of one. Honor will be the core of the relationship. I encourage you to take a step back and think about the honor you are giving to those around you. Why Seeking Balance is a Bad Thing

Because in order to have balance, you have to take from one thing to give to another thing. That is the definition of balance. Instead, I have started using the concept of harmony. With harmony, there is no sense of give and take. Things are simply allowed to exist as they are. I find it much more comforting that we should strive to achieve harmony in our lives than balance because I don't want to have to take from one thing to give to another. http://johnseiferth.com

Keeping Your Agreements

I get to a point where I think "Why am I doing this? Why should I follow through and complete it?" However, there is something in me that makes it very difficult for me to quit. I have a strong sense of pride when it comes to completing something I say I am going to complete. It all comes down to integrity. Do I have what it takes to do what I say I am going to do? Do I have the balls to keep my agreements? With myself, with others, with God. The only thing I have is my word, and if I don't have that, then I have nothing. Keeping my word is very important to me. Now, that doesn't mean I don't screw up and break my promises, but I do my absolute best to keep them.
